April Ludgate
April was one of the first people Grey met. She taught him about important things, like candy and junk food, and how to find his way around. She made sure he wasn't alone and never made it seem like a big deal. She was always kind to him without ever making him feel like he had to do something to deserve it. Along with Will, she's someone he looks to for guidance. They've become like family to him. Grey will always be grateful to April, and he'll do anything he can to protect her. Few people are so important to him as April.

Will Graham
Will is that guy who seems to know everything that a reasonable person might need to know to get along in life. He teaches Grey without any apparent judgement of how little Grey knows in comparison. It's thanks to Will that he's developed interests in boats, and gardening, and what passes for any understanding of good decent food. Grey sees Will as an inherently good person, someone who loves April unconditionally and is therefore among the best of men. Grey trusts him, and listens to his judgement in most respects. Though, he's too trusting of the Government, but that's okay. Grey can be wary enough for both of them.

Abigail Hobbs
If Will and April are the proverbial parents of Grey's adopted family, Abigail is his little sister. He's fiercely protective of her, determined that no one should be allowed to make her unhappy. He's seen Abigail's scars, and knows that they don't mean to her what they mean to him. She's someone who has been hurt too much already. She also has an uncanny ability of making everything seem right again, when it's otherwise awful. Grey didn't have a lot of experience with girls before he came here, but he's reasonably sure that Abigail is among the best of them.

Thomas Edison
Thomas is not from Grey's world, but he's from a place that seems just as difficult. It means he understands Grey better than most people, and his telepathy means he's also the best at knowing what Grey is trying to say. Grey is deeply attached to Thomas, who found him shortly after he arrived here and was the first to give him a home. In Thomas, he found a new leader to follow and a friend he would protect with his life. His feelings for Thomas go beyond ordinary friendship, but he's doomed to be unrequited. That doesn't reduce his attachment in the least.

Jonathan Joestar
Jonathan is someone with whom Grey associates the beauty of the world. He learned how to deal with animals through Jonathan, and is fascinated by Jonathan's powers. Jonathan seems pure and good to him, a person who seems to lack any sort of cunning or self-interest. Grey admires that, even while he thinks it makes Jonathan far too good for someone like him. He's a little bit awed by him, and feels grateful every time Jonathan talks to him. He would like for Jonathan to be happy here, but suspects that he's not.

Kanaya Maryam
Grey is never completely sure what to make of Kanaya. In theory she's his friend, and so he feels as loyal and protective towards her as he does to his other friends. He's not convinced that she likes him, and even more unconvinced that they'll ever completely get along. She doesn't just trust the Government; she seems like she's on their side, and that makes Grey worry he'll end up on opposite sides to her. He doesn't entirely trust her, but he wants things to be better between them, even if he's not sure they can really understand each other.
|
Athos
Athos is a soldier, and at first that made Grey unsure of him. This changed when he realised that Athos was the rare breed of soldier who actually cared about protecting people. Although he's registered, Athos seems reliable and good, and he's someone who's looked out for Grey more than once. Grey feels close to him, and intends to stay that way. Athos is something of a father figure to him. At some point, he wants to introduce him to his other father figure, Will.

Mary Watson
Mary is a kind woman who's friends with April. Grey met her at her wedding, and she seemed patient and clever. She's also been teaching him sign language, which he'd felt strange about at first, but is starting to embrace because of her. He has also encountered her in magically-induced dreams, wherein she was a far more strange and violent presence. Grey isn't sure how much, if any of that, is real, but it has led him to be more curious about Mary and wonder if she's more than what she seems. It has also made him feel strangely in debt to her, given that her dreamself saved his life.

Steve Rogers
Their first meeting was a complicated affair wherein Grey was hallucinating, and thought Steve was really his former leader, Curtis. As it turns out, looks is all they have in common. Where Curtis had been a reluctant leader, Steve excels at it. It's because of him that Grey is involved in Archangel, and therefore using his skills in the proper way again. Grey feels like he's become useful again, and that is generally thanks to Steve. He doesn't know Steve all that well yet as a person, but he's already impressed, and growing in loyalty.

Andrew Warner
Drew is friendly, tactile, scruffy, and easy to be around. Grey likes that he's talkative and welcoming, because he makes it easy to listen. His werewolf power fascinates Grey, and his loneliness is something Grey relates to on a very personal level. He has a growing attachment to Drew, which is helped along by a fairly instant attraction to his smile. Grey likes him, and wants to get to know him better.
|
Clary Fray
Clary is a sweet and friendly girl. Grey doesn't find it all that easy to talk to people on a personal level, mostly because it's not that easy for him to talk to people. Despite that, Clary already knows him better than a lot of people. She's from a world that couldn't be more different to Grey's, but that means it fascinates him. She's also around Abigail's age, and he's fairly invested in the two of them being friends; he thinks Clary would be good for Abigail.
|
Teresa
Teresa is Thomas' girlfriend, at least as far as Grey is concerned. He's never directly asked either one of them about this, but he doesn't think it needs to be said. Because of that, Grey would do absolutely anything to keep Teresa safe. He knows the world she's from and wants her to stay in this one, as much for Thomas' sake as for her own. He wants to get to know her better for his own sake, too. He would like to be her friend.
